today i realized it really had been quite sometime since i had written anything. to say i was going to give you an update might be stretching it a bit. there is not too much new happening in my life. i am extremely broke and struggling. it seem the more money i get paid, the less money i have. i have never been able to quite make sense of that. so, i stay at home a decent amount and entertain myself. thanks goodness for internet, tv, and fun neighbors.
at the beginning of october i took a second trip to new orleans. it was the perfect poor people trip. a way for a group of us to get out of town and take a break. we did more sight seeing and more eating delicious food. there was a lot of sitting around at my friends parents house because we were too broke to really do too much. i found some great books at used bookstores and had a great time with my friends.
i heard the other day from a friend that claire danes is in town. for those of you who have read about zack and i having the idea for my so called life season two then you know that this is the perfect opportunity for us to convince her to make this happen. lol.
so for halloween this year i purchased the cutest, cheapest outfit and i was snow white. some little girl who was trick or treating was so excited that she had to sneak a hug in on me before she left. the party next door was as good as it is every year. now, i am ready for thanksgiving. i am sure that i have mentioned it before but thanksgiving is , by far, my favorite day of the year. i am still trying to cut down my menu but i think i pretty much have it.
somewhere in just writing about thanksgiving and food i made myself really crave some food so i am going to cut this shorter than i had hoped. perhaps i will try and write again soon.

p.s. i just found out that the lilith fair is coming back for 2010 and i am pretty much so excited that i wish it was happening tomorrow. i went to 2 out of the 3 in the late 90s and had a blast. first real concerts i went to. first time my mom bought me a beer. (yes, that does raise some questions because i was either 15 or 16.)some of the guests for the 2010 fair that i could find mentioned were neko case, the gossip, and peaches. i could pretty much pee my pants in excitement.

you ever hit a point in your life where you realize that you have to change youself if you want something new to happen? i think i have hit that point. now i just have to figure out where to start.

when i say that everyday is a new adventure for me i really do mean it. something is always unexpected. today was such a good day that just happened to have a little crappiness peeking out.

so, i still want the kenneth the page bobble head. now they have shawn and gus bobble heads from psych!!! i want!!

i am in love with whoever thought of this. in love with. (go to the preview clip)

sara: hello
me: i didn't think you would answer. i was just going to leave a voicemail.
sara: i didn't want you to get my voicemail because i still haven't changed it from where you said i had depressed, baby voice.
me: oh, well, i hate you!
sara: WHY?
me: because i want to go to disney world and you refuse to make that happen!
sara: don't hate me because of that!
me: i hate you.
sara: we will go to disney, it just has to be next summer or something.
me: it always gets pushed back. i just want to go. i am doing that thing that i do about every six months or so where i go to the website and plan us a vacation. it is no good!
sara: you live closer. make other people go. stop hating me.
me: no, i hate you.
sara: stop.
me: i hate you.
sara: STOP!
me: whatever. bye
sara: hahaha. bye.

no, seriously, i really do want to go badly.

In a city dominated by cupcakes overflowing with sugar, flour and butter cream, it’s easy for those with persnickety diets to feel left out. BabyCakes offers all-natural, organic and delicious alternatives free from the common allergens: wheat, gluten, dairy, casein and eggs. Rest assured, all sweeteners have been chosen responsibly and used sparingly. White sugar will never be found in our bakery, nor will we ever use toxic chemical sweeteners. Instead, most products are sweetened with agave nectar—a natural syrup from a cactus which is low on the glycemia index and often a safe alternative to most non-insulin dependant diabetics. Occasionally, unprocessed and unrefined sugar is used in certain goods, although sparingly.

i got it! i am so happy!!

you can never fix everything. you can try though.

a lot has been happening since i have last written in here. it has been one year since i have been working at lulu's chocolate bar as a baker. overall, i still really love working there. i am not naive enough to think that any job is going to be perfect but it is such a nice, relaxed place to work. i want to be a good baker. i study a lot out of work because it is something that i am passionate about. and i have a good friend that i work with that is as passionate about it as i am. i am learning more about baking vegan and gluten free because i want to be able to feed my friends. nothing says "hang out with me" more than baked goods. i also have been working at an animal hospital with some of my friends to help my funds. (somehow the more money i make, the more more bills i have and the more broke i end up.)i love working with animals so this job is not bad at all. even though all of that has made me so busy it hasn't been terrible. there have been a lot of nights that didn't last past 10pm. tomorrow is my first day off in forever. i am pretty pumped.
i am planning a trip to new orleans again. i love it there and i can't wait to go back. hopefully i will be able to find some people to go with me. there was some things that i missed out on the first time that i would like to this time around.
my two new shows are mad men and dexter. i am caught up with the amazing mad men and just finised the first season of dexter. i am in a book club but i keep putting off the books i need to be reading watching this stuff. i have also started felting again after a long break. it is pretty relaxing crafting again. maybe i will start selling some of my stuff again.
for those who don't know, i sold out and now have a facebook. lol. that is some nerdy business. i kind of got a bit addicted to it when my laptop wasn't working because it is the one thing i can check on my phone. like i said, nerdy.
tenease, the best friend, is coming to visit for thanksgiving. i am so pumped because i have not seen her since 2006. some of my friends will finally get to meet my other half. :)
i know i have more to say but i don't really remember. i know i will be back more often.

i swear, i am alive.

i just got my laptop working again.

i will tell you what is going on soon. i promise.

i am always writing posts in my head when i am not near a computer. when i finally get near one it is as if i havehit some sort of wall. i have nothing left to say in the world. i have wanted to write for a while but i still do not have a working computer at my house at the moment. i just wanted to let everyoneknow that i am still alive.

in 1992 i was in the forth grade and living in northern california. my mom took my brother and i to the aspca to each pick out a cat. we had pets before but my parents had given them away for one reason or another. ( atleast that is the way i remember it. )this was the first time that we got to choose a pet for ourselves. i saw two really cute orange and white kittens in a cage and i stuck my fingers in to try and pet them. one othe the kittens immedietly started to lick my fingers. that was it, i was in love. he was mine. i tried to convince my brother that he wanted the other kitten in the cage but he was not pursuaded. i got my kitty though. i named him lightning because he was faster that any one cat should be. he would rush through doors before you would even see him leave. lightning has been through a lot with me. trips across country, friends, many homes, and a myriad of animals living with him. he was always the one to sleep next to me in bed though. he always cuddled the best. i was such a sucker for him. lightning passed away on friday. a really quick battle with a brain tumor. my heart is pretty much broken. my parents used to say that they would have to put me in a crazy house when he died and they weren't too far off. this sucks. a lot. i miss him.

i love this picture

he was totally chubbs for most of his life

kitty loved the street beatzz

yeah, pretty much

my laptop plugs were chewed on by a crazy little puppy at my house so for right now i have no internet. hopefully, i will have it back soon. today i decided i would post some of my more entertaining text messages and i encorage other people to do the same. i think they are funny. i might be the only one though. if you are looking for more of the text-y messaging then this website is for you. www.textsfromlastnight.com (sorry, i am too lazy to link it right now)anyway, here are a few of mine.

kelly- Oh that pauly shore
(on my love for son n law)

lately i have been missing a lot of my friends who do not live near me anymore. i am proud of my friends who have left in pursuit of a better life for themselves but i do miss them. today i spent some time with my friend chris carey. he will be leaving in about a week. chris has always been one of my most driven friends. he knows what he wants to do with his life and he has been working towards that since the day that i met him. my heart is breaking now even as i type this because i will miss him so much. he is one of the guys who has been with me through so much. i have been with him too. heartbreaks and crushes. breakdowns and severe lack of sleep. we tend to call eachother the most during those times. i know i will make it without him as i know i always do but it kills me a little inside to know that he is going.
also, how adorable is he?!

i have been thinking about posting for a while and have never had the chance.

i have a puppy staying with me right now that i found in a ditch. she is very sweet and adorable. she is driving me crazy though. i have named her bea. ( after bea arthur, of course. )

working a lot. that has actually been really nice. we actually won best desserts in the connect and i can feel proud of it because kelly and i do most of the baking. studying and spending way too much time online looking up recipes. missing my friends. i have a new goal when i am working with my friend kelly. it isn't a full day if i can't make her laugh hard enough to spit out a drink. still watching too much tv. all the same old stuff...

also, this place is crazy enough that some of my friends and i decided that we have to go. soon. holy land experience

friday night and dashboard. it was better than i could even begin to explain. one of my favorite shows that i have ever been to. saturday night was a night for seeing old friends. some i haven't seen in years. that was really nice.

seriously, i can't wait until friday. i was so close to missing it.

we left wednesday night for new orleans. we planned to leave earlier in the day but gabe was cleaning john "the coug" melloncamp's windows and it took forever. gabe and i took the four hour trip to sara's house in columbus. i introduced him to the song "i'm on a boat" which quickly became our theme song for the long weekend. we left sara's house after 1 am. gabe slept in the back and sara drove while i kept her company the six hours to her parents. we got there around 8am. it was weird to see the effects of katrina so much around us. some rooftops you could read something like "lp" on them. you then realise that the other letters have just been worn off and that at one point the word had read "help". there were large abandoned buildings and then places where it looked as if nothing had ever happened.

after sleeping for a few hours we went to the childrens museum. it was everything i hoped it would be. sara's mom joined us and i am pretty sure that she even had a good time. we went to a bakery afterwords. i tried my first beignet. i was not dissapointed in the bakery as a whole but i don't think i am a fan of beignets. they taste like funnel cake to me. we went out that night to bourbon street because i was told that it was something i had to atleast see. i am also not a fan of that. we did find a couple of good bars off bourbon though. we spent time with gabe's dad who happened to be in town on buisness. the next morning we did more of the whole tourist thing and went on an airboat around the swamps and bayou. we saw alligators and other wildlife. we ate at so many good restraunts while we were there. unfortunatly there were some where i couldn't really eat much at because i don't do seafood. there was A LOT of seafood. we also decided that we couldn't leave without trying out one of the drive-thru daquiri places. what a strange place. saturday we went to the french quarter festival. we road a ferry and ate more food. our last night was spent just gabe, sara, and i. we ordered pizza, drank beer, and played around the house until we were too exhausted to do it anymore. we woke up early the next morning and made the long drive home. road trips and vacations are fun but it is always really nice to be back. i want to go back again soon because there is so much i didn't get to see. another time.

and now for the pictures )

in just a few short days i will be leaving to road trip it to new orleans with friends. i am really happy to actually vacation somewhere nice. one of our plans it to visit the louisiana children's museum. the best part about that is...
"Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, A Hands-On Exhibit! Enter a world of imagination and fantasy where children and families can explore and discover new adventures together in “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood: A Hands-On Exhibit,” on display at the Louisiana Children’s Museum as a gift from the Pittsburg Children’s Museum.

The traveling exhibit helps visitors understand the importance of caring adults and the role of play in children’s lives through a full-sized facsimile of the celebrated neighborhood. The 2,000 square-foot exhibit includes three main sections: Mister Rogers’ Television House, Neighborhood Trolley and Neighborhood of Make-Believe." i am doing everything but peeing myself with excitement.
